About Bobby Wiltshire

Award-winning artist Bobby Wiltshire is a native of Richmond, Virginia. In 1976 he founded Carousel Signs & Designs, INC and he worked there until he retired to the Outer Banks in August of 2016.

Bobby’s oldest daughter presented him with a watercolor set for Christmas many years ago, and he loved the medium. Previously, he drew with pencil, painted with acrylics, and used 1-Shot sign painter’s paint to add artwork to signs. He started receiving instruction from Shelly Bechtel Shepherd at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, previously The Hand Workshop. His subjects consist mainly of rural scenes in Virginia as well as coastal views from Outer Banks of North Carolina.

For the last 17 years, Bobby has attended the Nimrod Artists Retreat in Virginia, where he finds inspiration and collaborates with other artists. Bobby is a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. He is also the recipient of many awards, including the 2019 Best In Show for the Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show.
